Many triathletes would argue that the Norseman iron distance tri is the hardest triathlon in the world.
Why?
Because the race starts when competitors jump into the freezing cold waters in the pre-dawn darkness of a Norwegian fjord, and ends at the summit of a mountain.
Oh yes, if that's not hard enough there are dozens of small mountains that must be conquered on the bike.
So how could this race get any harder?
Check out the video below as four very hardy triathletes take on the Norseman iron distance tri course in the middle of winter. The snow drifts on the road are so high that a you need a virtual snow tunnel to get to the run portion of the race.
The call it a Norseman tribute. We say that if you really want to do a winter tribute triathlon....go for the Kona Ironman course ;-)
