Both Timothy O’Donnell and Kelly Williamson defended their Ironman San Juan 70.3 titles today.
The two American pro triathletes proved that they are back in winning race form for 2012 with decisive wins in San Juan.
O’Donnell took the early edge out of the water, but on the bike Belgium triathlete Axel Zeebroek took charge. However once O’Donnell got on the run he posted a race-best split of 1:17:17 to put him across the finishline in 3:51:32 ahead of second place triathlete Leon Griffin of Australia.
Rounding out the podium was Axel Zeebroek who crossed the line in 3:54:56.

In the women's race Kelly Williamson came out of the water third and and kept sliding back on the bike. However it was on her run (1:20:13) that she made her move to cross the finishline in first place 4:14:06.
At just over 4 minutes behind her Linsey Corbin crossed the in second in 4:18:38, followed by Czech triathlete Radka Vodickova...who finished third in 4:23:23.
