It's not just humans that seek out the title of being an"Ironman". Following the 1900 triathletes that completed the Ironman World Championships in Kona earlier this month, Panasonic's Evolta robots have taken to the famous Hawaii course to also claim this prestigious title, or should we more appropriately say, the "Ironbot" title.
The Evolta robots, with one especially designed for the swim, the bike and the run, are seven inch high humanoids powered by three AA rechargeable batteries. They are taking on this ambitious challenge to prove the durability, strength and performance of the Evolta line of rechargeable batteries.
The team from Hawaii's triathlete-friendly hotel, The Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows, came out to show their support of Evolta as he rode past the resort entrance around midnight last night. Just like on Ironman day, Mauna Lani Bay had a well stocked aid station and lively cheer squad to give Evolta that extra push as his little legs took him back into Kona.
