It started ten years ago as a fun way to celebrate Christmas in Boston.
Since that time the annual Boston Santa Speedo run has generated over $400,000. for charity, and other Santa Speedo runs across the country like THIS one in Atlanta.
This year's run had hundreds of scantly clad runners brave the freezing weather in Boston to raise money for two charities according to MyFox Boston:
"Crossroads for Kids: Crossroads for Kids is dedicated to creating a safe and caring community where young people from at-risk environments discover a sense of belonging and a passion for life.
Bottom Line: Bottom Line was founded in 1997 to improve our community by helping disadvantaged youth get in to college, graduate from college, and go far in life."
In order to take part in event runners has to raise a minimum of $250 for the non-profit charities.
