Brian Boyle was on his death bed in 2004 after a horrific car crash.
By 2007 he was racing in Kona at the Ironman World Championships.
And today---well today he was on the Today Show to promote his new book.
"The 22-year-old from Welcome, MD, was involved in a tragic car accident in 2004 that nearly took his life and went on to finish the Ford Ironman World Championship. After dying eight times on the operating table, doctors told him he may never walk again. Determined to survive, Boyle not only made a full recovery, but also began competing in triathlon. To date, Boyle has finished many Ironman events, including the Ford Ironman World Championship and Foster Grant Ironman World Championship 70.3, demonstrating the Ironman mantra of “anything is possible.” according to Ironman.com
