Denver, CO -- The International Center for Performance & Health (ICPH), a premier Denver-based center for executive leadership and health revealed to over 150 attendees at the Colorado's Healthiest ExecutiveTM Awards the names of winners. The awards breakfast was held on Thursday, February 19, 2009 at the Infinity Park Event Center in Glendale CO.
"We are delighted," states CEO of the ICPH, Dr. Andrea Wieland, "to announce the winners of the first annual Colorado's Healthiest Awards winners, the runner ups, the Healthy Team award and the Lifetime Achievement Award recipients.
This is a great tribute to an outstanding group of leaders who pursue health, fitness and well being with great enthusiasm for themselves and also encourage others in their organizations and communities to do the same."
The 2009 Colorado's Healthiest Female Executive Award was awarded to Shelia Scott, Dean of Student Support Services, DeVry University. The 2009 Colorado's Healthiest Male Executive Award was won by Keith Anderson, CHP Director, RadCon Services, ECC.
Shelia's involvement in health and wellness, fitness and well being is all encompassing. "Who we are on a daily basis is a result of how we feel physically, emotionally, and spiritually at any given moment. Employees that feel good internally (body, mind, spirit) display externally a positive attitude and energy that is a catalyst for greater productivity and efficiency."
Even though Keith was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes in 2007, he is a champion of incorporating healthy living into each facet of his life, his workplace, his community and his personal life, working hard to generate a message that healthy living is as important as any positive reinforcement. As part of his effort to tackle the debilitating aspects of diabetes, Keith spent the past year in a comprehensive conditioning and training program to recover from his diagnosis. His philosophy is a simple, yet powerful one, "Healthy leadership in body and mind!"
Runner-ups for the awards included Barb Mica, Chief Operating Officer of Rothberger, Johnson & Lyons, one of Denver's top 10 law firms, and Bill Munn, Chief Legal Officer at Nelnet. Mica's philosophy, stated in her application, sums up the role she plays to initiate wellness with her employees. "In health and fitness, as in the business world, a few small changes over time can add up to significant improvements. The important thing is to start."
