If you ran the Miami Marathon this weekend, the last thing on your mind might be to run it again.
But if you want a deal, now is the time to act.
The first 200 registrants for the marathon and first 200 for the half marathon get a 50 percent discount, marathon managing director Gaby Pozo said. That's $27.50 for the 13.1-mile race and $40 for the full marathon.
According to the Miami Herald:
"The next 200 runners who register for each event get a 40 percent discount, followed by a 30 percent discount through 11:59 p.m. Feb. 3.
''Same place, same time,'' said Pozo, who still was on a running organizer's high a day after getting little sleep because of the massive work involved in organizing Sunday's event.
'The race is a thrilling experience for everybody. About a week ago, I walked into the office and told everyone, `This is the best week of the year.' Sunday was the culmination of all our hard work, but come Monday morning, we're hurting physically.''
More than 12,000 participants finished Sunday's marathon and half marathon. Pozo said organizers are in the early stages of trying to plan something special in conjunction with the Super Bowl."
