Today we get high, very high, in California with the annual Death Ride (Tour of California Alps)
Just image 129 miles, 15,000 feet of climbing and 5 steep mountain passes, and you're on the way to getting a good feel for what it must be like to ride your bike up and down the California Mountains.

"Located in the stunning California Alps, the Death Ride® course covers the traditional five mountain passes. This super challenging course includes climbing both sides of Monitor Pass, both sides of Ebbetts Pass, and the final climb up the east side of Carson Pass. Cyclists will start and finish at Turtle Rock Park, located two miles north of Markleeville, CA."
