It seemed like it was destined to be when we reported THIS interesting story over the weekend.
So we were not surprised when Paul Fernandez, 34, completed the Gloucester Marathon in full clown costume in two hours 50 minutes, more than half an hour faster than the previous record.
The British Biology teacher smashed the Guinness Book of Records for the fastest clown marathon.
Please note that Guinness has yet to verify this result.
According to Telegraph:
"The biology teacher from Oxford finished second in the overall field of 250 on Sunday, despite his brightly-colored one-piece outfit, clown's wig and face paint.
This was not Mr Fernandez's first attempt at getting into the record books. An earlier effort – a relay triathlon that involved running from Newcastle to Dover, swimming the English Channel and cycling to Gibraltar – was rejected because of the difficulty potential challengers would face in retracing his exact route.
He says that he was inspired to attempt quirky world records after browsing the bizarre feats of other title holders."
So what's next for Fernandez?
He now hopes to break the record for the fastest marathon in a Father Christmas costume (that would be a Santa outfit in United States), which currently stands at three hours 12 minutes.
