- running your 50th marathon,
-racing an Ironman and,
- swimming the 22-miles of the English Channel?
That's what's on Englishman Tom Goode is gearing up for next year. All in an effort to raise money for Children with Leukaemia.
According to the Cambridge News Online:
"SUPERFIT Tom Goode is gearing up for an exhausting year which will include his 50th marathon, an Iron Man competition and swimming the English Channel.
The 52-year-old dad will complete the three grueling physical trials in 2009 to raise money for Children with Leukaemia after raising more than £50,000 for various charities in 20 years of marathon running.
He said: "I thought if he could do it, then so could I. And as I was training for the Channel swim, I'd do an Iron Man competition too, which involved swimming.
"I've recently found out that I've been accepted to run the London Marathon next year too, which will be my 50th marathon.
"I started running to get away from the stress of my job and I suppose I got a bit addicted to it."
