This weekend will mark the running of the 13th annual Lake Tahoe Marathon.
For most athletes this race will be the culmination of a lot of hard work and training.
But for about ninety people it will just be another day, another marathon.
These ninety runners are signed up for the 3-Day Tahoe Triple Marathon which will measure the competitors "heart and desire with 3 different marathons in 3 days covering the whole lake and 2 states," according to the event web site.
The local Tahoe newspaper caught with the three-day marathon racers at the pre-race dinner and wondered what somebody about to run just over 78 miles in the next three days eats to get ready for such a strenuous event?
The answer: haystack-size piles of pasta, Pepsi cola and peanut butter sandwiches.
