I really believe that the best blogs allow you to swim, bike, and run a few miles in someone else's shoes.
So here are some recent race reports and blog posts that I found especially entertaining, clever, fun, useful or just plain weird.
1) Club Dread just completed her first Iron distance race in just over 15 hours and came away with nine lessons (HERE and HERE) that I'll certainly remember when I race Ironman AZ in the fall.
2) Donald recently had his A race canceled in CA because of the recent wild fires. No Biggie. So what if your 100-mile race gets canceled after a long spring and summer of training. You did not really want that huge finisher's belt buckle after all, did you?
So Donald picked himself up and found another race that proved to be just a interesting and challenging as his original A race. Lucky for us because he wrote THIS terrific race report with (and get this) references to Vincent Van Gogh. Oh and the photos are great as well.
3) Angela Naeth is an aspiring pro triathlete. After a great race in Boulder a few weeks ago she went on to race the Timberman 70.3 recently. And just like my buddy Scott last year in Idaho at the Ironman she quickly discovered why tubular tires are not always the fastest choice.
I must confess that I have a burning hatred of tubular tires ever since one rolled of my rim on an especially hot day around a gravely sharp turn. You can guess what happened to me next, or you can read HERE what happened to Angela.
4) Steve in a Speedo does some pretty crazy stuff and takes a lot of photos to prove it. HERE he compares his stomach too...this is hard to describe so you just better see for yourselves.
5) "Personally, the only arch enemy I have are my shoes," is by the best single sentence I've read in a blog all year. You'll have the read the entire hilarious post HERE for yourself to see what I mean.
Did you read something so great on bog that it made you laugh, cry or get so mad that you wanted to smash the computer? If you have a great post that you've read and you'd like to share it with the world just leave me a comment below, and I'll be sure to included in my Best Blog Round-Up next week.
