I have some big time gadget lust today.
The new Garmin Forerunner 305 and 205 are just out. It replaces my bigger and fatter 301 that I’ve been using for all of my recent training. This little gem is really the coolest and most useful training aid I own.
On my runs it tells me how far, fast and at what pace I’m running, while monitoring my heart rate.
It does the same thing on my bike ride plus I can download my workouts into the computer and even overlay them onto a local map. My Garmin is especially useful when I travel for work and it tells me exactly how far I’ve run and even how to get back to my hotel.
The New Garmin is smaller and way cooler. And according to Amazon.com it also provides:
- Powerful GPS navigator provides faster acquisition times and improves tracking under trees and near buildings
- Delivers detailed post-workout analysis on bundled Training – Center PC software (connects to PC via USB)
- Includes rechargeable lithium-ion battery; measures 2.1 x 0.7 x 2.7 inches (W x H x D); 1-year warranty Sleek wrist-mounted sports performance trainer with high-sensitivity GPS receiver and heart rate monitor
- Monitors heart rate, speed, distance, pace, and calories burned for smarter, more effective conditioning
