February 26, 2012 - Conrad "the Caveman" Stoltz and Carla Van Huyssteen captured the ninth-annual Totalsports XTERRA South Africa Championship presented by REHIDRAT® SPORT on a 'stunning day' at the Grabouw Country Club in the Western Province.
The victory is Stoltz fifth at XTERRA South Africa but first since 2007, and the first for fellow South African Van Huyssteen, who finished third at this race a year ago. Of note, the last time Stoltz opened the season with a win in his home country he finished the season with his third of four XTERRA World Championships.
Both Stoltz (pictured courtesy Oakpics.com) and Van Huyssteen were the first racers to hit the bike course and neither faltered thereafter in a race that combined a 1.5km swim, with a 25km mountain bike and 10km trail run.

The 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been a favorite on-road and off-road ride for mny people who want utility and style.
For 2012 the new Jeep Grand Cherokee remains largely unchanged but never-the-less our sister blog TFLcar decided to update their experience with the Jeep by taking it for a four day test drive through Chicago and the nearby towns and suburbs.
After putting hundreds of miles on the Jeep they came away impressed with the cars ability to carry five in comfort and security.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee had the optional 340 HP 5.7L HEMI that proved to be not only powerful but also fast. It turns the off-road Jeep into a dragster but it also comes at a price.
Check out this update review (from our sister blog TFLcar.com) to find out this price.

Vancouver, Canada (February 23 2012) - The International Triathlon Union (ITU), in conjunction with the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG), is pleased to confirm the final schedule for the triathlon competition, training, briefings, and pontoon draws at the London 2012 Olympic Games:
As a coach, I get to see a perspective on training and racing very different from my own since I am privy to the diverse outlooks of my athletes. Despite their varying ages, abilities, goals and time in the sport they all have two things in common: impatience and short-term memory loss.
There are two parts to the impatience. The first is a question I get asked a lot this time of year, “Why can’t I do more?” I gently explain that in January and February one cannot and should not train as much as during the summer. Most of the important races are later in the year and it is hard to stay fresh for those races if the training load is too high too early. Winter offers a natural break in the training cycle with unpredictable weather and less daylight. A progression needs to occur so the body adapts, does not break down and absorbs the training load.
Nike this week launched a new running shoe for the 2012 Olympics that weighs a mere 160g (5.6 ounces) for a size 9.
That's very light and in fact 19% lighter than the "Nike Zoom Streak 3, a shoe worn by first, second and third place athletes in the men’s marathon at the 2011 World Championships," according to Nike.
The new shoe technology called Nike Flyknit, uses "yarns and fabric variations are precisely engineered only where they are needed for a featherweight, formfitting and virtually seamless upper," says Nike
