COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - USA Triathlon today announced the details for four of its 2012 National Championship events - the Junior and Youth National Championship, the Club National Championship, the Elite National Championship and the Aquabike National Championship.
With a number of events for ages 7-19, Junior and Youth Nationals is slated for Aug. 11-12, 2012, in West Chester, Ohio. Youth Elite (ages 13-15) and Junior Elite (ages 16-19) National Championships, as well as youth events for ages 7-15, will be held Aug. 11, followed by the always-exciting mixed team relay Aug. 12. Registration will open Jan. 12 for all events at usatriathlon.org.
For the second consecutive year, the nation's top Olympic-distance athletes will vie for the USA Triathlon Elite National Championship at the Nickel City Triathlon on Sept. 15, 2012. Olympians Laura Bennett and Hunter Kemper were victorious at 2011 Elite Nationals.
Making its debut in 2012 is USA Triathlon's Aquabike National Championship, set for June 24, 2012, in Richmond, Va., in conjunction with the I Love the Tavern Triathlon.
