Do you suppose that someone can predict what's hot, and what's not for 2012 in terms of fitness?
The answer is of course "yes."
For six years now, "the American College of Sports Medicine has surveyed thousands of trainers, fitness instructors, exercise-science experts and clinicians around the world to try and pinpoint the top fitness trends—those with real staying-power—for the upcoming year. Their survey generates a list of the top 20 trends with commentary and analysis from industry experts," according to Phillymag.com.
So what will be the hottest fitness trends next year?
Some of these trends you can propably guess.
For instance with the tough economy...group personal training will be all of the rage next year...the American College of Sports Medicine predicts.
It may seem like a strange idea but Group sessions—as opposed to one-on-one training–are certainly much more cots effective and potentially provide the same fitness bang for your training buck.
Another group trend that is on the up tick is Zumba and other dance workouts. These new dance-based classes continue to grow in popularity. In fact they are now becoming so popular that these, "upbeat, Latin-dance-inspired class" have moved into this year's list of the the top ten fitness trends.
Another big trend that shows no signs of slowing is Core training. If you are a triathlete...no doubt you've heard that all fitness starts with the core, and this trend to core training continues to gain popularity.
