100-year-old Fauja Singh smashed the Marathon World record in Toronto this weekend by completing the 26.2 mile Scotiabank Toronto Marathon in Canada in eight hours, 25 minutes and 55 seconds, and claiming the fastest marathon Guinness World Record record for a centurion.
The British runner only picked up running at the age of 89 after the tragic death of his wife and son. Since that time he has completed seven marathons.
Singh was born on April 1, 1911 in Punjab, India but only took up the sport of running when he moved to London.
If there's something you can't change then why worry about it? Be grateful for everything you have, stay away from people who are negative, stay smiling and keep running," said Singh.
