In a series of tweets today Chrissie Wellington confirmed that she will be racing the 2011 Ironman World Championships, even after her very painful bike crash this weekend that left her battered and bruised. Chrissie wrote about an hour ago:
"The body is capable of amazing things. I WILL be on the start line. Thanks to all who contacted me: your words truly are healing wounds. :)"
The three time Ironman World Champion also tweeted links to photos of her road-rash battered body:
"Life throws you curve balls. The key is to bounce those balls right back. http://yfrog.com/nu69141733j"
And summoned up the bike crash with this tweet:
"And plus, at least my skin matches the colour of my race kit. :)"
