American rider Tyler Farrar dropped out of the Tour de France today as Joaquin Rodriguez of Spain won the mountainous stage 12 of the 2010 Tour de France.
Farrar had been riding with a broken wrist since crashing in the second stage of the Tour. Team Garmin-Transitions had high hopes for the sprint specialist but it looks like his 2010 tour is over.
In the final sprint today's stage 12 Joaquin Rodriguez of Spain sprinted it out with early tour favorite Alberto Contador...who also had a good day by gaining a precious 10 second on his main rival Andy Schleck.
Lance Armstrong is no longer in contention as he is now in 32nd place and just over 21-minutes behind the leaders.
Team RadioShack's Levi Leipheimer continues to hold on to a slim possible podium position in Paris as he's currently in 6th place and 4:07 behind the Andy Schleck the current overall GC leader.
