His name is Fuyu Li and he's one of the first Chinese riders to take out a professional cycling license, and now he's also one of the first Chinese pro bike riders to test positive positive for the banned substance Clenbuterol.
What makes this story potentially more interesting is that Fuyu Li rides for Team Radio Shack which is an American professional bicycling team lead by Lance Armstrong.
According to a recent team press release:
"Team RadioShack and its management take this incident very seriously. We will respect the rights of our rider but will enforce our zero tolerance policy should his B-sample test positive."
According to CNN.com, "The sample was collected on March 23 in Belgium and Fuyu Li has been immediately suspended pending the outcome of his B-sample test in the next few weeks."
"If that test is positive the rider will be removed from the team," the Team RadioShack statement went on to say.
Fuyu Li is the , "Current Chinese individual time trial champion (2009) . . . winner of the Tour of Thailand (2006) . . . Chinese national mountain bike cross country champion (2003) . . . When he joined Discovery Channel in 2007, Li became the first Chinese professional rider on a ProTour Team," according to the National Cycling Examiner.
