You know that the sport of triathlon is becoming a mainstream
activity when both Chrissie Wellington and Craig Alexander are
nominated by the United States Sports Academy for their prestigious
Athlete of the Year Award.
Alexander is in such well known company as Kobe Bryant, Tiger Woods and Usain Bolt for the 2009 award.
On the women's side of the ledger Wellington is competing with Serena Williams from the world of tennis, Lindsey Vonn from the World Cup Skiing...to name just two other female athletes up for this year's award.
