Gary Brasher is a a 51-year-old real estate executive from Tubac, Arizona and soon he'll be a 3X Ironman.
He's set a lofty goal for himself: to complete 3 Ironman consecutive Ironman races in three days culminating in today's Ironman Arizona.
So how does he plan to complete three races in three days?
According to azcentral.com:
"He and his coach will keep close control of his progress using a GPS device and a journal to make sure he completes every mile.
Then on Sunday Brasher will join more than 2000 other racers for the Ford Ironman Arizona in Tempe for the last leg of his race. All of Brasher's progress can be tracked live throughout the weekend at www.TripleIron422.com"
And why is Brasher putting his body through the rigors of three Ironman distance races in three days?
"Brasher's goal is to raise money and awareness for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and to promote positive role models for today's youth."
"As I look at our walk through life, it's about faith and endurance," Brasher said. "Staying at something. Getting up on those days when you don't want to get up. Doing things you sometimes don't want to do, but you know they are the right things to do.
"It would be great to see the focus and the message for youth be one of faith through endurance."
