Jordan Rapp followed up his earlier win this year at Ironman Canada to take the Ford Ironman Arizona title in a record time of 8:13:35.
"I think it shows that I can win on a very different course than Canada. Canada was sort of my home course - I woke up in my own bed 800m from the start line.
I trained all summer on the course. But here, I was in the same boat as everyone else," said Rapp to slowtwitch.com.
On the women's side of the race it was Canadian Samantha McGlone who won her first Ironman race in a time of 9:09:19. She over came a slow swim time with a fast sub 5-hour bike slit to win the race.
