Every year San Francisco's Bay to Breakers 12K features an odd mix of serious runners, drunk runners, and naked runners.
This year both city and race officials have worked together to tone down the infamous "party" aspects of the race.
But as race day draws near it looks like officials now merely seem intent on keeping inebriated participants from becoming public nuisances.
According to the Los Angeles Times:
"Last year's race was marred by rampant public urination and vandalism, which prompted harsh complaints among residents on the race route.
Here are the new rules: Kegs and glass bottles are banned. Floats must be registered and can enter the race only at the starting line behind runners. It remains unclear how police will deal with the nudity issue, but according to a statement issued Wednesday, "There will be zero tolerance for public drunkenness and public urination."
More than 30,000 are expected to participate."
