Lance Armstrong is in Italy previewing the Giro TT course.
According to his Twitter page, "Previewing the long tt from the Giro. Stunningly beautiful here in Cinque Terre."
He also adds about the time trial route, "The Giro TT is wicked hard. Never, ever flat and 62 kms. Doubtful for riding the tt bike as well. And the descents...?? Insane.."
Meanwhile one of the top hopes for a podium in the ongoing Paris-Nice race has pulled out for family reasons.
According to Yahoo News, "Briton Bradley Wiggins has pulled out of the Paris-Nice race to attend the funeral of his wife’s grandmother, his Garmin-Slipstream team said on Wednesday.
Double Olympic pursuit champion Wiggins did not start the fourth stage of the “Race to the Sun”, a 173.5-km ride from Vichy to St Etienne.
“He did not start the stage. He went back to Britain to attend the funeral of his wife’s grandmother,” Garmin-Slipstream sports director Lionel Marie was quoted as saying by organizers."
