It was four days ago that thieves broke into the Astana team truck and stole Lance Armstrong's Time Trial bike.
Today that bike was returned---Sacramento police have confirmed.
According to published reports the thieves were unaware of the value of the bike as they were trying to get an astonishingly low price for the on-of-a-kind bike.
Earlier this week Armstrong posted this on his twitter page, "Whoa!! They just came to my room and said our truck was broken into and someone stole my time trial bike! Wtf?!? APB out to the twitterati."
According to Armstrong, "There is only one like it in the world therefore hard to pawn it off. Reward being offered."
The bike is one-of-a-kind Trek Equinox TTX 9.9.
According to Trek team liaison Ben Coates, three Astana team Trek Madone road bikes belonging to Janez Brajkovic, Steve Morabito, and Yaroslav Popovych were also stolen.
Police have confirmed that the road racing bike of Janez Brajkovic of Slovenia showed up earlier today at the Sacramento hotel where the bikes had been stolen on Tuesday.
