This crazy confrontation has been years in the making.
While Lance Armstrong is focused on making a comeback to professional cycling, some fans and even some journalist are intent on proving that his phenomenal success in winning seven Tour de France races was due in part to doping.
The controversy first erupted at the pre Amgen Tour of California press conference when Lance Armstrong was questioned by reporter, author, and former cyclist Paul Kimmage.
Kimmage, who called Armstrong “the cancer of the peloton” in a radio interview last year, asked Armstrong how he could compare the return to racing of suspended rider Scot David Millar to those of Floyd Landis and Ivan Basso."
You can see the sparks fly HERE, as Armstrong tear into Kimmage.
Fast forward to this week's Stage 4 of the AToC and once again Armstrong had to defend his reputation. This time Armstrong lived up to his last name and he did so in no uncertain terms by the use of force instead of words.
This series of pictures below speaks for itself.
If you believe that Armstrong was justified in his action really depends on how you feel about Armstrong himself.
The fact remains that while Armstrong has made a comeback to professional cycling so has the controversy surrounding him and doping.
It must be noted here that Armstrong has never tested positive for any performance enhancing drug. But this fact obviously does not matter to the Liveclean Devil and other fans of professional cycling.
