With the Ironman World Championships just around the corner, Canadian Columnist Kevin Brooker decided to weight in with his thoughts about how unhealthy Kona bound triathletes really are in the weeks before the big race.

Paul Amey of Great Britain and and Vanessa Fernandes of Portugal both took home the top honors at this weekend's Duathlon Championships in Rimini Italy.
The ITU duathlon consists of a 10km run, 40km bike, followed by a 5k run.
Just to keep it honest, I must admit that I have countless years of experience at sucking come race day. So please note that these top ten tips don’t just come from your Average Joe DNF. No they don’t! Indeed, if they offered a technical degree in RDS (Race Day Suckage), I would not only be the student, but the professor, dean and trustee of the USDS (The University of Race Day Suckage).
10. Try something crazy just minutes before the race
Cycling News is reporting that professional cyclist Frank Shlelk has been "unmasked" today as a customer of Eufemiano Fuentes, the doctor whose Madrid clinic was raided by Spanish police in 2006 as part of Operación Puerto.
Frank McCourt, the owner or the Dodgers, has just completed the purchase of the Los Angeles Marathon, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The race date will be moved from the first Sunday in March to the Monday President's Day holiday in February.
